Details COLWICH TRENT AND MERSEY SJ 92 SE CANAL 19/10014 Hoomill Bridge No 76, Hoomill Lane at SJ 9973 2410 GV II Canal road bridge. Circa 1766-72 by James Brindley, Surveyor General. Red brick with stone coping and quoins. Single span with towpath and humped back. Integral with adjoining lock. Segmental headed arch. Swept wings terminating in piers at all 4 corners. Stone plaque at crown on both sides. Cast iron guard plate to north towpath side jamb. Minor repairs include replacement of top course of bricks. The Trent and Mersey Canal was built between 1766 and 1777 by James Brindley and Hugh Henshall.
