Details STADHAMPTON MILL LANE SU6098 (East side) 14/147 Stadhampton Mill GV II Watermill. Late C18/early C19. Limestone rubble and brick; old plain-tile roof. Rectangular gable-fronted plan with an outshut over the tail race. 2 storeys plus loft. Irregular fenestration of segmental-headed casements with the entrance and first-floor loading door in the front gable wall. The lower part of the front wall and the rear gable wall are stone, the remainder brick in Flemish bond. Renewed external stair to loft doorway at rear. Half-hipped roof. Metal overshot wheel in pit to right. Interior: wood and metal gear survives almost intact. The mill had 2 pairs of stones and was working until 1938. (V.C.H.: Oxfordshire, Vol.VII, p.82).
