Stugged coursed sandstone with ashlar dressings. Segmental arch with dressed voussoirs and advanced keystone with '18' inscribed. Wallhead coping bearing alternating straight and twisted wrought-iron railings. Octagonal terminal piers. — The Edinburgh and Glasgow Union canal was designed by Hugh Baird and was built 1818-1822. Scheduled Monument.
