Category B Date Added 01/02/1999 Supplementary Information Updated 01/02/1999 Local Authority Scottish Borders Planning Authority Scottish Borders Parish Eccles NGR NT 78707 43982 Coordinates 378707, 643982 — Dated 1783 (?) with later repairs and alterations. Single-arched humped bridge spanning Lambden Burn. Squared coping to pointed rubble sandstone walls; cream sandstone dressings. Recessed segmental arches to outer elevations; cream sandstone voussoirs; raised keystones (inscribed 'AD 1783 (?)' to SE, weathered to NW); prominent sandstone corbels beneath surmounting parapets. Buttress to NE. Splayed walls at either end (differing lengths and extended to S); squat circular-plan piers. — An impressive, well-detailed bridge which still forms part of the main route in and out of Leitholm village.
