Details SE23NE 714-1/6/936 LEEDS OTLEY ROAD, Lawnswood (South side) War Memorial in Lawnswood Cemetery GV II War memorial. c1920. Portland stone and bronze. In 3 parts: octagonal plinth and chamfered cross approx 4m high, overlaid by a bronze sword. Behind, to N, a screen wall approx 10m long and 1.5m high, the deeply-chamfered coping incised: 'THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVER MORE'. On the wall are fastened 16 bronze panels with floriate cross and lists of names of the killed in World War I. A second low wall to the E has the names of those killed in World War II. Listing NGR: SE2660439306 This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register. These sources were not used in the compilation of this List entry but are added here as a guide for further reading, 10 August 2017.
