Details 1. 5111 CHAPEL LANE Allerton BD15 War Memorial in Ladyhill Park SE 1234 26/346 II 2. Adjacent to Park gates at intersection with Allerton Road. Unusually good bronze figure group. Harold Brownsword sculptor, 1922. Madonna like figure supporting half naked body of dead soldier, Pieta deviation; naked youth balancing group to left. The figures rise from a rock with the soldier's arms at foot. The whole is set on an ashlar corniced pedestal. Listing NGR: SE1230833999 This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register. These sources were not used in the compilation of this List entry but are added here as a guide for further reading, 31 January 2017.
