Details Standing at the end of a tree-lined approach, the tall granite memorial comprises a ringed, ornate cross on a tapering octagonal shaft, raised on a four-step base. The texts comprise metal lettering set into the faces of the steps. The First World War inscription is recorded on the uppermost two steps: ERECTED BY THE PARISHIONERS OF STOKE GOLDING/ IN MEMORY OF THOSE WHO FOUGHT AND FELL/ IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1919/ GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS/ THAT HE LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS,/ LET THOSE WHO COME AFTER SEE TO IT/ THAT THEIR NAME BE NOT FORGOTTEN The 21 names of those lost in the First World War are on the third step. A Second World War inscription was added to the bottom step: SECOND GREAT WAR/ 1939-1945/ LEST WE FORGET with a further 12 names. The memorial stands in the rond point of the central path of the cemetery.
