Details WOOLASTON GENERAL ST 59 NE 10/267 Monument to Elizabeth Woodrofe in the churchyard c 10 metres south east of the south east corner of the chancel to the Church of St Andrew GV II* Lofty chest tomb. Mid C17. Sandstone. Flat top to moulded edge over deep frieze, panelled corner pilasters, sunk panels, base sunk at time of survey, September 1983 and some invasion by ivy. Top inscribed 'EP 1665' and south inscription in all capitals includes 'ELIZABETH DAUGHTER OF JAMES WOODROFE 1665'. This is no doubt the family commemorated also in the inscriptions to the gate piers at Brooken House (qv), the spelling sometimes WOODROFF.
