Details War memorial, by Sharpe and Hoggard of Retford, unveiled in 1922. The memorial comprises a 2m high Scottish granite obelisk with a flared plinth on a two-stage base carrying the memorial inscription. That reads ERECTED TO THE/ MEMORY OF THE MEN/ FROM THIS PARISH WHO/ ENTERED INTO REST/ HAVING FOUGHT THE GOOD/ FIGHT IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 – 1918 (names). SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: the memorial stands within a small enclosure comprising a metre-high stone-coped, whitewashed, wall to the rear and, to the front, iron railings with a gate to the centre. This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register. These sources were not used in the compilation of this List entry but are added here as a guide for further reading, 24 January 2017.
