Details NEWBOLD ASTBURY C.P. MACCLESFIELD CANAL SJ 86 SE 8580 6130 5/59 Canal bridge No. 79 - - II Road bridge taking Peel Lane over the Macclesfield Canal. c. 1827. By William Crosley. Yellow sandstone coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. Single-span bridge with horseshoe arch with voussoirs and a projecting keystone which rises to connect with the band below the parapet. Battered walling to either side and slightly curved retaining walls which terminate in square piers, chamfered coping to top of the parapet.
