Details SJ 68 NE LYMM C.P. CHURCH ROAD 2/44 Bridge over Outfall and Spillway, Lymm Dam II Bridge carrying Church Road over outfall and spillway from Lymm Dam, late C19. Bridge of ashlar buff sandstone; masonry spillway. Semicircular arch (span approximately 7 metres) with plain projecting stone bands at back of voussoirs and at road level, and plain ashlar parapets. Short east abutment against precipitous sandstone bank; battered, curved west abutment with large battered buttress on north side. The bridge is widened (mid C20) on south side, with concrete soffite, but with ashlar face rebuilt. The cascade spillway feeds an adjacent natural waterfall into the precipitous wooded Dingle.
