Details FONTHILL BISHOP FONTHILL PARK ST 93 SW (north side) 1/75 Bridge across Fonthill Lake GV II Bridge carrying track over lake. 1826 on keystone of east arch. Limestone ashlar. Two segmental arches, west arch has initials GM (for George Mortimer) on voussoir, east arch has date 1826. South side has panels of tapered Doric columns between piers with stele, vermiculated on south side only. Slightly curved abutment walls. Cutwater and no balustrade on north side. Designed as a feature of the landscaped park, clearly to be viewed from the south as the north side possesses no decorative detail. George Mortimer bought the remains of Fonthill Splendens in 1823 and made improvements to the park, including widening the lake. (J.
