Britain's largest Bonfire Night (5 November) events are in the Sussex Weald and Devon: Lewes (with its seven Bonfire Societies and torchlit procession), Ottery St Mary (rolling flaming tar barrels), Ewenny Priory (Wales), and Battle (East Sussex, the Senlac field of 1066). All free events, but parking and accommodation booked months ahead.
