England's 12 great cathedrals span the architectural arc from Norman Romanesque (Durham, 1093) to English Baroque (St Paul's, 1710). Each is the centrepiece of a city and the home of a working choir. You can tour them all in a fortnight, though seven of them comfortably fit a week from a base in central England.
