Details This list entry was subject to a Minor Amendment on 29/04/2014 SK3387SE 784-1/21/911 SHEFFIELD, WESTON PARK (South side), York and Lancaster Regiment Boer War Memorial (Formerly listed as Yorkshire & Lancashire Regiment Boer War Memorial) 28/06/73 GV II Regimental war memorial. 1903, resited with alterations late C20. By John Dodsley Webster. Bronze and granite. 3 ogee headed bronze panels, the larger central one with inscription and regimental crest and with a finial in the form of the regimental badge. The outer panels have cusped heads and relief figures of soldiers. Below the panels, an inscribed plinth, and above them a traceried crest. On either side, a late C20 wall of granite setts. Originally in Church Street, close to the Cathedral (qv). (Researches by G Hague, Sheffield City Council). Listing NGR: SK3399387277 This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register. These sources were not used in the compilation of this List entry but are added here as a guide for further reading, 31 January 2017.
