Details SO 61 SE LITTLEDEAN CHURCH STREET (east side) 10/80 Wilmot monument, in churchyard, about 6m south west of tower of Church of St. Ethelbert, south of path GV II Chest tomb, late C18. Stone. Flat lid with moulded edge. Ends, one expanded rectangular baluster with fluting and gadrooning. Sides central oval panel with raised, carved rim, for inscription: in corners stylised flower and chain. Either side are tall fielded panels, with outside thin ends of end 'balusters'. Moulded plinth. Good lettering, some upper case, some mixed; commemorates Thomas Wilmot, died 1780: some later inscriptions. Copper-plate scrolling to last word of first.
