Details WHITESTAUNTON CP ST21SE WHITESTAUNTON VILLAGE 5/140 War memorial incorporating retains of churchyard cross in churchyard, about 19m south of chancel, Church of St Andrew - GV II Remains of churchyard cross restored as war memorial. Possibly C14, restored cl920, Original stone unidentified, renewed with Ham stone. Octagonal 3- stage calvary, much eroded, square plinth broaced to an octagon, octagonal tapering shalft, C20 cross. Inscribed on south side as memorial to those who fell in the First World War. Listing NGR: ST2806210479 This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register. These sources were not used in the compilation of this List entry but are added here as a guide for further reading, 14 December 2016.
