Details War memorial. Circa 1919. The plinth carries the name ‘Bodmin Granite Company’. MATERIAL: granite. DESCRIPTION: a Celtic cross, standing on a roughly-hewn plinth, with a base beneath. The west face of the plinth is smoothed to carry the incised inscription of the names of the six men, all privates, who fell in the Great War. Beneath the names are the lines ‘The blood of heroes is / the seed of freedom.’ This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register. These sources were not used in the compilation of this List entry but are added here as a guide for further reading, 11 January 2017.
