Details FYLINGDALES THORPE ROAD NZ 9405 Robin Hood's Bay (north side) 16/218 War memorial to south of Church of St Stephen GV II World War I memorial, 1919 or later. Sandstone. Saxon cross form on tall sloped base. Cable-moulded borders and interlace panels, those on shaft with high-relief figures of St George and a recording angel. Arms of cross have bosses among interlace. Inscribed on lower part of shaft: "Remember the love of them who cam not home from the war". Below this a copper plate with names of World War II dead. Names of World War I dead inscribed on base. Listing NGR: NZ9485505274 This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register. These sources were not used in the compilation of this List entry but are added here as a guide for further reading, 1 February 2017.
