Category B Date Added 28/11/1984 Local Authority Highland Planning Authority Highland Parish Latheron NGR ND 11820 22663 Coordinates 311820, 922663 — Sir Ernest George and Alfred B Yeates, 1919. Polished granite plinth with moulded cornice; pediment on east face filled with carved thistles, with inscribed bronze plaque below; ogee finial supporting bronze figure of St Andrew. Names of dead of 1914-18 war, with those of 1939-45 added. Stands on low, wide platform of polished Caithness slabs with polished granite border; approached by low steps separated from adjoining road by low coped rubble wall. — Monument erected 1919-20 by William Arthur, 6th Duke of Portland. Architect/designers' names incribed on plinth.
