Details SHEFFIELD SK38NW BROOKHOUSE HILL 784-1/5/108 (North side) War Memorial and railing at junction with Canterbury Avenue II War memorial and railing. c1920. Ashlar, with wrought-iron railing and bronze plaque. Portland stone octagonal shaft with cross gables, topped with a Celtic cross. Octagonal pedestal with moulded top, and inscribed octagonal plinth. Octagonal ashlar base, 3 steps. The memorial is set in a semicircular paved area bordered at the front by a dwarf wall with chamfered coping, square end piers, and central steps with pedestals. At the rear, a railing carrying an inscribed bronze plaque. Listing NGR: SK3063385481 This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register. These sources were not used in the compilation of this List entry but are added here as a guide for further reading, 31 January 2017.
