Details LYDNEY CHURCH ROAD SO 60 SW (east side) 7/100 UNIDENTIFIED monument in the churchyard c12m north of nave north wall of the Church of St Mary - II* Chest tomb. C17. Sandstone. Thick flat top slab with moulded edge over decorated pulvinated frieze, high relief carved ends with rosette and drapes, sunk inscription panels, the base sunk at the time of survey, September 1983. The south facing panel is badly worn; that to north has some good C17 incised lettering, but neither name nor date now decipherable. This is an important survival, although worn because of the nature of the forest sandstone. Listing NGR: SO6332002551 Legacy The contents of this record have been generated from a legacy data system.
