Details THETFORD TL8683 WHITE HART STREET 617-1/5/161 (South East side) 10/03/71 No.14 (Formerly Listed as: WHITE HART STREET (South East side) Nos.14 AND 16) GV II Used as a theatre and shop until 1833, then 2 houses and shop, converted to offices late C20. Mid C18. Flint and clunch with a painted gault brick facade added late C18. Slate roof. 2 storeys with a third in the attic. 3-bay facade with rusticated quoins. Late C18 shop front to left consisting of a C20 door and an original display window with 4 panes in 4 tiers. Upper central panes hinged. Right and left are fluted pilaster strips rising to modillion cornice and hood. 2 sashes right with 6/6 glazing bars, replaced. Right-hand sash formerly a door. 3 similar sashes first floor. Parapet conceals gabled roof, hipped at front. One central 2-light casement flanked by a blind window right and left. Rear of flint. Wall stack to south and 2 further stacks on ridge and south roof slope. INTERIOR: stick baluster staircase with ramped and wreathed handrail. First-floor front room with high coved ceiling associated with theatre use: plaster cornice of fruit and swags.
