Category C Date Added 30/12/1980 Local Authority Highland Planning Authority Highland Burgh Cromarty NGR NH 78942 67426 Coordinates 278942, 867426 β€” Ross and Macbeth, 1906-08. Gothic, rectangular, orientated east/west with gabled porch SW and stump of unfinished belfry SE square flat roofed. Vestry outshot NE corner. Red sandstone rubble with polished ashlar dressings, slate roof with tiled ridge. Triple lancet with niche above, east elevation. South elevation lit by 3 tripartites and 2 bipartites, north elevation by 2 of each, all lancet. Plain interior; single hammerbeam roof supported by corbels. Foliage decoration to capitals of chancel arch. 3 light stained glass window in north wall in memory of Rev. Albert Chadwick, 1932, and single light south wall in memory of Mrs Innes 1951 both by J. N. Comper. β€” Architect's water colour showing church with belfry hangs in vestry. Portrait of Rev. Albert Chadwick (d.1931) included in his memorial window. That to Mrs Innes depicts St Frances with Scottish birds and beasts, together with West Highland terrier.
