Details NY 8837 38/257 STANHOPE ST. JOHN'S CHAPEL War Memorial GV II War Memorial. Circa 1919 by Beattie and Co., Carlisle. White marble. 2 metre- high square pedestal supports life-size figure of soldier, hands resting on rifle and head bowed. Inscriptions include: '1914-19'; to Great War and Second Great War dead, and to the 7 airmen who died at Green Laws in 1943. Listing NGR: NY8849337956 This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register. These sources were not used in the compilation of this List entry but are added here as a guide for further reading, 7 February 2017.
