Details 5340 SE 89 SW 3/46 NORTH YORKSHIRE RYEDALE DISTRICT COUNCIL LEVISHAM CORN HILL POINT Levisham Moor Skelton's Tower II Shooting lodge. Early C19. For Rev Robert Skelton. Dressed sandstone with sandstone ashlar dressings. Square on plan. 2-storey, single bay front. Doorway to right with bordered herringbone-tooled lintel and pointed window in plain raised surround to first floor left. Similar window to first floor of return wall to left. Remnants of iron glazing bars to windows. Interior: a plain staircase rises against the wall to left of entrance. Small fireplace in plain raised surround to first floor. The tower is an important local landmark, standing high on a hill top, overlooking the North Yorkshire Moors Railway in Newtondale. Part ruined at time of resurvey.
