Details SJ 40 NW 4/152 PONTESBURY C.P. Sibberscote Manor GV II Farmhouse, now house. Late C16 with later additions and alterations. Timber framed, now largely brick clad, plain tile and slate roofs. Hall and service bay with projecting cross-wing (probably added at a slightly later date) to left. 2 storeys and attics; framing: close studding with single middle rail and short curved tension braces exposed to rear and left return of cross- wing; attic of cross-wing jettied to rear, carved corner brackets, also former jetty to first floor - moulded bressumer and ground floor under-built in brick; jettied 2-storey porch to front also timber framed, close studding with moulded bressumers above entrance and below apex of gable, the latter with carved vine leaf decoration, quatrefoils on the single middle rail to front; windows all 3-light late C19 and C20 leaded casements, single ranges to gable of cross-wing and to left and right of porch with gabled dormers above in roof slope; entrance through 6-panel door with flat-cambered arch in porch; prominent red brick stack with 2 detached shafts behind ridge at junction between hall and cross-wing, end stack to right. Interior: not inspected, but said to contain oak panelling and ceiling-beams with wide chamfering on ground floor, roof of collar and tie beam construction with butt-purlins. V.C.H.
