Details SS 40 NE 2/97 Sheepwash Bridge 20.2.52 II Road bridge over River Torridge. C17 considerably rebuilt in C19. Stone rubble walls with some ashlar. Four spans with flood arch. Four centred arches with triangular cutwaters and a pilaster above each one on east side (down stream). Cambered stringcourse. Refuge on upstream side above extended cutwater. The cutwaters extend further on this side and are more likely to be original. There is no stringcourse and the arches have projecting keystones. Cambered parapet with rounded coping stones. The asset was previously listed twice also at List entry 1162626. That entry was removed from the List on 29 July 2016. This entry was subject to a Minor Amendment on 29 July 2016.
