Details War memorial, unveiled in 1920. The memorial, which is surrounded by gravestones, stands on a grassed strip of land running horizontally to the north-east of the churchyard of the Church of All Saints (Grade I). Materials: Cornish granite. Description: the memorial comprises a roughly hewn, tapering, Cornish granite, wheel cross set on a rough surfaced curved edge plinth with a smooth surface, front and back. The inscriptions are presented within recessed panels on the front and rear faces of the plinth. Two short stone bollards abutting the bottom step of the memorial act as wreath holders. The principal face of the plinth bears the inscription IN/ EVERLASTING MEMORYOF/ THE HEROIC MEN WHO IN THE GREAT WAR GAVE/ THEIR LIVES FOR THEIR COUNTRY FOR HUMANITY/ AND FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS/ (21 NAMES). At the base of the rear face of the cross shaft is the inscription 1939-1945, with the plinth face below reading (13 NAMES)/ THEY SHALL NOT GROW OLD, AS WE THAT ARE LEFT GROW OLD/ AGE SHALL NOT WEARY THEM/ NOR THE YEARS CONDEMN/ AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN AND IN THE MORNING/ WE SHALL REMEMBER THEM.
