Details The memorial stands at the edge of All Saints’ churchyard. It comprises a limestone cross, c4m high, with an octagonal shaft standing on a plinth, on a two-stage base. A blind arcade of three gothic arches is carved on each side of the plinth. Each face of the plinth frames inscriptions in these arches: (first face) GREATER LOVE/ HATH NO MAN THAN THIS (second face) (3 NAMES) (third face) TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN LOVING MEMORY/ OF THE MEN OF THIS PARISH WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES/ FOR THEIR COUNTRY IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 – 1918. (fourth face) 1939 – 1945 (2 NAMES) This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register. These sources were not used in the compilation of this List entry but are added here as a guide for further reading, 11 January 2017.
