Details SU 19 NW MAISEYHAMPTON HIGH STREET (west side) 7/250 Meysey Hampton Meysey Hapton Manor GV II Large detached house. Core probably late medieval, enlarged and refaced in early/mid C18. Random coursed rubble stone on plinth with flush quoins, moulded stone cornice and parapet wall, hipped stone slate roof, stone ridge and end stacks. single long range with small rear extension of late C18 or early C19, and across back of C20, three storeys. Four windows, large 12-pane sashes in moulded stone surrounds, small 6-pane sashes on second floor in similar surrounds. Ground floor has large triple sash to right in moulded stone surrounds, 4/12/4 panes, of C19. Door to right of centre with attached Doric stone columns and entablature with triglyphs and moulded pediment. Semi-circular stone soffit with recessed decorative radial fanlight and 6-panel door, upper 4 fielded, tower 2 flush. To left, 2 large C20 triple sashes in cemented surrounds, to match that to right of door-case. Small wing to right of single storey and attic with hipped roof and parapet with plat band, single small 6-pane sash in flush stone surround on ground floor. Interior has very fine oval stair well with decorative oval skylight and stick baluster stair with carved string, said to have been designed by Soane.
