Details BANK NEWTON LEEDS AND LIVERPOOL CANAL SD 95 SW 5/24 Bank Newton 2nd Lock and Bridge No. 166 GV II Lock and bridge c.1790, Robert Whitworth, engineer. Dressed sandstone lock, rebated for wooden gates, with coping swept out to the basin at lower end which is crossed by the small segmental arch of the bridge.
