Category C Date Added 26/06/1986 Supplementary Information Updated 10/04/2017 Local Authority Dumfries And Galloway Planning Authority Dumfries And Galloway Parish Keir NGR NX 86235 93323 Coordinates 286235, 593323 — Sir William Arrol and Co, engineers. Built 1897. Steel bowstring roadbridge spanning Scaur Water. Cross-braced rivetted girders, flat roadway on suspended I-beams. Bridge rests on bull-faced red ashlar plinths, these with parapets splayed towards approaches. — Replaces suspension bridge erected by Drumlanrig Estate about 1820/30 (New Statistical Account).
