Details ST 69 NE BERKELEY CHURCH LANE (Inset, Section B) (south side) 10/70 John King and 2 unidentified monu- ments, about 0.5m east of William Pearce monument in churchyard of Church of St. Mary the Virgin. GV II Group of 3 chest tombs; to north unidentified late C17, centre John King, died 1823, to south unidentified early C18. Limestone. Flat tops. From north to south: 1. Moulded plinth on base, heavy moulded capping very eroded. Ends and sides (divided into 2) have plain rectangular panels, inscriptions obliterated. 2. John King, moulded plinth and capping with indented corners. Small ovals to ends, sides divided into 2 larger ovals with inscriptions on north and heavy carved floral motif in spandrels. 3. Plain unmoulded capping apparently renewed, no plinth visible. Lyre ends, badly eroded, with hanging drapery on returns. Sides have central small inscription panel and flanking carved foliage panels.
