Details DIDMARTON THE STREET ST 8287 (south side) 15/86 Holford and three Unidentified Monuments, about 5-8m south east of porch in churchyard of Church of St. Lawrence GV II Four chest tombs in 2 pairs. Thomas Holford to north west, rest unidentified, probably late C17/early C18. Limestone. Pair to east: Flat top, moulded plinth and capping, both restored. Chest to north has panelled corners with interlocking circle design and small bellied cartouches with carved surrounds to ends, large oval panels to sides with flattened roll moulding and relief surrounds. Chest to south has lyre ends with plain raised ovals, small rectangular side panels with shallow moulding and flanking reliefs with flattened scroll design and twisted "rope" device. Pair to west: very similar and probably both to Holford family. Flat top to Thomas Holford, rounded top to chest to south, both with moulded plinth and capping and lyre ends with acanthus returns and flat moulded small ovals. Sides have rectangular panels with 2-tiered flat moulding and flanking panels of large interlocking circles except to north side of chest to south which has acanthus scrolls.
