Details HAILEY DELLY END SP31SE 9/94 Hailey Manor 12/09/55 (Formerly listed as Manor House) GV II Shown on O.S. Map as Manor House. House. c.1730-40. Coursed limestone rubble; ashlar front. Hipped stone slate roof; moulded stone ridge and right end stacks. Central-staircase plan. Early Georgian style. 2 storeys and attic; symmetrical 6-window range. Keyed and beaded architraves to mid C19 double-leaf doors with decorative overlight and mid/late C19 plate-glass sashes. Raised storey band; bracketed cornice; mid C19 gabled dormers. Two-storey canted bay to left side wall has similar windows, with semi-circular arched heads to left. Gabled 2-storey rear wing, of similar materials, houses stairs. To rear are extensive mid C19 extensions, with similar sashes and Gothick heads to sash on right. Interior: c.1730 dog-leg with landing staircase has turned balusters set on closed string. Hall to front of stair-hall has C18 moulded cornice, 2 round-headed alcoves, framed softwood rails and muntins above dado rail, and C18 fireplace. Room to left has modillioned cornice and reset early C18 swags over fireplace. Room to right has c.1730 fireplace with scrolled brackets, egg-and-dart architrave and garlanded pulvinated frieze.
