Details ST35SW 5/55 EAST BRENT CP OLD BRISTOL ROAD (North side) War memorial at the junction of Old Bristol Road and Bridgwater Road II War Memorial. Dated 1921, repaired 1983. By Emery of Burnham-on-Sea, on plinth. Dressed stone. Plain plinth, with an angle-buttress at each corner, moulded cornice around its top. Octagonal sockets, a life size figure set at each corner in military dress, a soldier, a sailor, an airman, and a marine. Tapering chamfered shaft with a cruciform finial. Plinth inscribed with the names of The Fallen. An unusual and elaborate memorial. Listing NGR: ST3493251821 This List entry has been amended to add sources for War Memorials Online and the War Memorials Register. These sources were not used in the compilation of this List entry but are added here as a guide for further reading, 14 December 2016.
