Details SOWERBY BRIDGE ROCHDALE CANAL, SE 0224 and SE 0324 Luddenden Foot 8/179 Cooper House Bridge - - II Road bridge over canal. c1798. For the Rochdale Canal Company. Coursed stone. Segmental arch with quoins add voussoirs. Band, the stone above it thinner coursed. Chamfered ashlar coping, partly renewed. Wing walls, curving to north-east and south-west, terminate in piers with pyramidal caps. South-west pier removed and corner of bridge broken through by C20 steps.
