Details BURMINGTON SP23NE 7/5 Burmington Manor 13/10/66 (Formerly listed as Manor House) GV II* Manor house. Early C13 origins, with late medieval, late Cl6, C17, C18 and C19 alterations. C13 uncoursed limestone rubble, and later squared, coursed rubble with plinth and quoins. Stone slate roof with ashlar ridge stack with moulded base, the 4 flues linked by a moulded cornice. Further brick stacks, 2 with original ashlar bases. 2 storeys plus attic; 3-window range. Originally a 2-bay aisled hall with solar range to east. North facade of 3 flush gabled bays, that to east the original solar bay. To centre of bay an early C13 blocked window of 2 round-headed lights under a round arch, the tympanum unpierced. Above, to left, a Cl6 first-floor inserted window of 3 hollow moulded round-headed lights, with hood mould and label stops. C16 timber-framed gable has decorative bracing. 2-bay range to centre and west has C16 timber studded first floor, and gables, now weatherboarded. To ground floor a large C19 five-light wood casement. Further C19 three-light casement inserted into first floor studding. C20 two-light casements in gables. Projecting north from-west bay a late C18 one-storey kitchen range with tile roof, and 3-light casement, and blocked doorway to west, both with stone lintels with keyblocks. West facade, the gable end of original hall range, has C18 doorway to left with stone lintel and keyblock. C19 stone canted bay to centre. To first floor left a C19 two-light casement, with a C17 ovolo-moulded 3-light mullioned window with hood mould and label stops to centre, under original gable. To centre right, where C13 range ended, a shallow buttress. To right, projecting south, a C19, two-storey gabled range with possibly reset Oh window of 3, hollow-moulded, round-headed
