Details STAGSDEN BURY END SP 95SE 8/498 Burdelys Manor (formerly listed as Bury End Farmhouse) 7.5.52 - II Farmhouse of C17 or earlier origins on possible site of former manor. Coursed limestone rubble, new tiled roof. Main house T plan with the cross wing to the left hand side. Main house of two storeys has three first floor 3-light casements with leaded lights, central front door with a 2 light mullion and transom leaded window to left. Part of the rear is timber-framed with brick infill. The cross wing has a hipped roof, and one 3-leaded light window to the front elevation, with several similar casements to side and rear, and two buttresses. The main building has two substantial brick stacks. First floor rooms contains early C17 oak panelling and oak chimney piece of Doric and Ionic orders superimposed. Mid to late C17 oak close strung newel staircase with turned baluster. To right of main house is a wing of one storey and attics with gabled dormer; to right of it is a single storey outbuilding.
