Details This list entry was subject to a Minor Amendment on 20 March 2023 to amend the date of construction, names of engineers and contractor and to reformat the text to current standards SD 62 SW 6/199 WHEELTON Brown House Bridge (Number 86) at SD 606 226 II Accommodation bridge over Leeds-Liverpool canal. 1812-15. Supervising engineers Joseph and James Fletcher, contractor John Withnall.. Squared sandstone. Distorted elliptical arch carrying sloped deck, with rusticated voussoirs (painted white), band, parapet with rounded coping, pilastered ends.
