Details This List entry was subject to a Minor Amendment on 16/01/2019 SP 79 SE 5/76 MEDBOURNE and ASHLEY ASHLEY ROAD Bridge over River Welland (Formerly listed as Bridge over River Welland (that part in Medbourne C.P.)) II Bridge. Early C19. Ashlar with red brick arch linings. Four segmental arches, those to centre left and right larger. Central buttress rising into parapet. Roadway curves upwards over the bridge and the parapet, together with the exterior raised band at its foot, follows this. The parapets at either end of the bridge are very slightly set back, and end in low stone piers. Triangular cutwaters both sides. This asset was previously listed twice. The duplicate record (List entry number 1052134) was removed from the List on 16 January 2019. The remaining record (List entry number 1360689) falls within the parishes of both Medbourne and Ashley.
