Road bridge over River Don comprising 2 wide semi elliptical arches with heavy rusticated voussoirs, centre cutwater and paired outer piers rising from broad pilaster buttresses and plain railings. Bullfaced masonry with red sandstone dressings and roll-moulded course at parapet base. — Described by Hume as a 'particularly handsome' bridge, the Bridge of Buchaam commands an eye catching position as the road turns a sharp bend to cross the River Don in order to avoid Newe Estate land. Together with the Bridge of Newe (listed category C(S this bridge was built by Sir Charles Forbes of Newe when, in 1856, the main road was diverted in order to enlarge the policies of Castle Newe. The plain metal railings replace masonry parapets.
