Coursed dressed and squared stone with rounded copings; elliptical arch (including towpath); string at carriageway level; parapets and carriageway cambered over span and terminated by piers. This section of the Caldon Canal was opened circa 1779, to take limestone from Caldon Low, Henshaw and John Rennie engineers.
