Category C Date Added 25/11/1980 Local Authority Aberdeenshire Planning Authority Aberdeenshire Parish Drumoak NGR NJ 82291 00202 Coordinates 382291, 800202 — Early 19th century in present form. Squat square 2-storey tower, plain rubble-built with corbelled and crenellated parapet. Roofless. — Belskavie Tower is a significant feature in the landscape and is likely to date from the early 19th century in its present crenellated form. It appears on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey map as a 'mock ruin' which may contradict the opinion in 'General View of Architecture in Aberdeenshire' (p160, reference from former list description) that it is believed to be a watch tower of early date. Fraser noted that it had been restored twice within memory (reference from former list description). Owned by Forestry Commission Scotland.
