Details ST 7766 BATHAMPTON C.P. MILL LANE (West side) 8/34 Bathampton Manor 1.2.56 II Manor house now a private home for elderly persons. Mid - late C17th, remodelled mid C18th. Coursed, squared rubble, formerly rendered; slate roof with coped raised verges; paprapet, ramped-up at ends; moulded cornice. 2 storeys and attics in modern dormers. 7 bays. Modern glazing bar sashes in architraves with flat moulded cornice above; grouped 1:1:3:1:1. Central modern door, flanked by half-Tuscan columns; Ionic columns flank window above. To left of door is blocked doorway with depressed 4-centre arch lintel and ovolo/ogee moulded surround under relieving arch. Home of the Allen family - Ralph Allen of Bath.
