Details SP2444 8/209 02/09/52 TREDINGTON ARMSCOTE Armscote Manor GV II Manor house. Early/mid C17. Limestone ashlar and squared, coursed limestone with quoins and coped gables. Stone slate roof with ashlar ridge stacks, the 2 flues on a moulded plinth and joined by a moulded cornice. 2 storeys plus attic; 4-window range. L-shaped plan, with wing to rear and with 2 projecting gabled bays on front rising to ridge level. In gabled bay to right a chamfered doorway, the door set back. Old plank door within ovolo-moulded wood surround, with C20 overlight above. To right a 4-light ovolo-moulded mullioned and transomed window. To centre a 4-light ovolo-moulded mullioned window with king mullion. In left gabled bay, to ground and first floors, a 6-light ovolo-moulded mullioned and transomed window with king mullion, with hood moulds continuing around gable. To first floor of right gabled bay a 4-light ovolo-moulded mullioned and transomed window with king mullion. To left, a range of 3 ovolo-moulded mullioned windows to first floor, with 2, 3 and 4 lights. In attic of each gabled bay a 4-light ovolo-moulded mullioned window with king mullion, with a further small 2-light mullioned window above. All windows have hood moulds and label stops. One C20 dormer. In right gabled bay between windows of first and attic storeys a sundial. Left gabled end has a mullioned window to each floor, of 4, 3 and 2 lights, with a further small 2-light window above. Further 2 and one-light mullioned windows to right gabled end. C20 stone additions to rear, with one C17 staircase gabled bay with 3 ovolo-moulded single lights. Interior: open fireplace with chamfered timber bressumer with ogee stops.
