Details SAFFRON WALDEN TL53NW AUDLEY PARK, Audley End 669-1/3/330 Bridge over the River Cam at TL 521 28/11/51 380, south-west of Audley End House (Formerly Listed as: AUDLEY END Bridge over the River Cam about 150 yds west of Lion Gate) GV I Bridge over the River Cam. 1763-4. By Robert Adam. Oolitic stone ashlar, hump-backed, curved with splayed ends, 3 elegant segmental arches, centre section balustraded, terminal piers. Each side has roundels in the spandrels, S ones are plain but those to N have heraldic decoration in the 2 inner ones and ANNO 1764 in the outer. (Drury PJ & Gow IR: Audley End, Essex: HMSO, London: 1984-; The Buildings of England: Pevsner N & Ratcliffe E: Essex: London: 1965-: 65).
