Background

History

The original block of 1862 was the "last great work" of Edward Walters, and the extension of the 1880s was undertaken by his successors Barker and Ellis. On 25 February 1952, it became a Grade II* listed building. It was occupied in 2001 by the Royal Bank of Scotland; they vacated in 2020 and the building underwent a restoration by owners Bruntwood before reopening in 2023 and being rebranded as 'Bond'.
