Weekend in Glasgow

Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Kelvingrove, the Necropolis, and the best Victorian architecture in Europe.

Glasgow was the second city of the British Empire and is now the largest city in Scotland. Its Victorian-Edwardian heritage is dense and well-preserved. Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is one of Europe's great public collections (free); the Glasgow Necropolis is the country's most theatrical 19th-century cemetery; the Mackintosh Trail visits the architect's surviving buildings.
